Star Wars Battlefront 2 Epic Star Cards Removed From Crates, Crafting Locked Behind Rank

Players will also earn specific gear and weapons through completing milestones as certain classes.

In light of fan feedback (read: negative reactions) to its loot crates, DICE has adjusted several aspects to earning Star Cards, Crafting Parts and weapons in Star Wars Battlefront 2. The biggest change is that Epic Star Cards will no longer drop from Crates.

Instead, they’ll be available through crafting. Of course, they can still be received from pre-order incentives, Deluxe and Starter Packs. Everyone else needs to invest the resources to fully upgrade a Star Card to Epic level. To further circumvent that, players will need to be a certain rank to craft higher tier Star Cards. It won’t be possible to buy lots of crates, gather tons of crafting materials and receive an advantage immediately.

Weapons can be earned from milestones and while some can still be found in crates, you’ll need to actually play the game for many of them, especially the class-specific weapons. If you spend enough time on a particular class, then it’s possible to earn specific gear and items through class-specific crates which contain Star Cards and Crafting Parts for your class.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is out on November 17th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC so we’ll see how these changes play out at launch.
