It can be somewhat hard to believe, but at one point in time EA and DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 was one of the most controversial titles on the planet. The games use of microtransactions was a source of much debate, some of which still lingers today. However, the game has been out now since 2017 and has improved a lot over the years. Now, you can experience it free of charge.

Battlefront 2 is the free game on the Epic Games Store for this week. You can get the Celebration Edition that includes the complete collection of customization content going all the way up to updates before December 20th, 2019. The game has also had tons of free updates over the last three years for you to experience. You can see where to redeem the game on the website through here or via the Epic Games Store’s desktop launcher.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be free on the Store until January 21st. After that it will be replaced by Galactic Civilizations 3.
