Star Wars Battlefront 2 Guide: Farming Battlepoints, Credits, Collectibles Locations, Classes, Best Weapon And More

Now that, temporarily at least, the microtransactions, loot boxes, and egregious monetization that have marked every aspect of Star Wars Battlefront 2 (and, rightfully, all discussion about it as well) have been left out, maybe we can look to see what’s left of the game.

It’s a new Star Wars game- there’s a lot of stuff to do. Most of it is poorly balanced, because it was designed around the microtransactions that are now off. But there’s still stuff to cover- and if you need help with that, this guide will help you, at least until EA re-introduces the microtransactions, and turns Battlefront 2 back into a gambling simulator.

So, here is what we’ll go through in this guide: we’ll go through getting all the collectibles in the game, earning battlepoints and credits quicker, a guide to the classes, some basic tips and tricks, a guide to weapons, and some Achievements and Trophies. Let’s get to it.

FARMING BATTLEPOINTS AND CREDITS:

Battlepoints and Credits- two different currencies in the game, but both are useful in terms of unlocking items and content and measuring progression. Put together, the two of these form the crux of the progression curve in Battlefront 2.

EA has recently greatly changed how progression and payouts in Battlefront 2 work- but the general guidelines listed here are still helpful.

Battlepoints

  • In multiplayer games, always make sure to play the objective instead of trying to lone wolf it to get kills. You will earn more BP this way
  • Equip the Bounty Hunter Star Card- this increases the BP you do earn
  • Kill minions and AI bits in games- they are easy fodder for BP and multipliers
  • Just… play the game. Everything you do in Battlefront 2 earns you BP, so just, as long as you play it, you will earn it

Credits

  • On the main menu, head on over to the Career tab. There, you will find Milestone Challenges listed- completing these nets you Credits
  • Complete the campaign- completing the Campaign gives you 5,000 Credits
  • Just… play online matches.

These are the Credit costs for all the Heroes/Villains in the game

  • Chewbacca – 10,000 Credits
  • Darth Vader – 15,000 Credits
  • Emperor Palpatine – 10,000 Credits
  • Iden Versio – 5,000 Credits
  • Leia Organa – 10,000 Credits
  • Luke Skywalker – 15,000 Credits
  • Rey/Chewbacca Millenium Falcon – 5,000 Credits

COLLECTIBLES

There are collectibles you can find littered throughout the game’s campaign- none of them are missable (you can always go back and get what you missed by using the mission select screen to return to a mission you might have missed a collectible in). 23 Collectibles, and getting all of them will unlock 175 Crafting Parts for the multiplayer mode- obviously you want these. The video below shows you where to get them.

CLASSES

The one thing that has not been nerfed whatsoever thanks to the pay to win structure having been removed from the game is the classes structure. There are eleven classes in the game, and playing with them earns you XP, which in turn earns you better gear and abilities. Let’s go through the classes briefly, yeah?

  • Assault: Standard foot soldier/infantry class; gets Thermal Detonator, Scan Dart, and Vanguard abilities
  • Heavy: Slower tank class; abilities inclue Impact Grenade, Combat Shield, and Sentry
  • Officer: A support class; Blaster Command, Battle Turret, and Flash Grenade are the abilities you get
  • Specialist: Sniper class with Shock Grenade, Infiltration, and Thermal Binoculars
  • Enforcer: Flamethrower class! They get Cooling Cell, Incendiary Imploder, and Fortify
  • Jet Trooper: An aerial class with a jetpack; Jetpack Boost and Dash, as well as Rocket Launcher are the abilities
  • Gunship: A standard gunship with Repair, Missile Guidance Disruptor, and Heat Sink
  • Ground Vehicle: A ground based support vehicle with Motion Scan, Ion Charge, and of course, Repair
  • Interceptor: A small, fast, agile vehicle; Afterburner, Target Lock, Concussion Missile are the abilities
  • Fighter: A standar starfighter ship, with Proton Torpedo, Afterburner, and Laser Barrage

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MULTIPLAYER

  • Keep track of the Star Cards: these define your progression. You can get them via loot crates, or by purchasing them with in game credits, or by crafting them
  • Don’t be afraid to switch your class. Different classes are suited for different situations, so experiment and switch depending on what kind of situation you find yourself in
  • Play the objective. I said tis before- but don’t lone wolf and try to focus on kills, that doesn’t work for you or your teammates. Stick with your team and play the objective
  • Actually use your battle points. Don’t stockpile them. They’re useless. Spend them on actual helpful gear.

Starfighter Assault Tips

  • Whenever you are taking damage, switch your direction immediately. This is the easiest way to dodge incoming projectiles and the damage they inflict.
  • When targeting an enemy, pay attention:  the small circle just in front of the enemy craft will tell you where you need to fire in order to hit them.
  • Zig-zag. Keep your course unpredictable, and live to fight another day.
  • If a missile locks on to you, swerve and alter your course, and keep doing this until you lose the missile.

Strike Tips

Strike is one of the more unique modes in the game- just 12 players, divvied up into teams of six, fighting over a single objective, each with their own common pool of respawns. The idea is simple- the defending team needs to hold the objective for a while, while the attacking team needs to claim it and then hold it. If the attacking team claims the objective, they need to take it back to their end of the map, while being accosted by the defending team, who now respawn at strategic points to intercept them.

It goes without saying, this mode requires teamwork. You need to work together and be willing to play a support role.
