Star Wars Battlefront 2 Players Are Resorting To Cheating To Earn In Game Credits

How will this give you any sense of pride and accomplishment?

Okay, I will make some things very clear here- I have nothing but contempt for the kind of exploitative, abusive, and predatory pay to win style monetization that Star Wars Battlefront 2 originally had, and I have zero sympathy for the kind of excessively grindy progression system it has as a holdover from that design, even though the microtransactions are gone.

What I do feel is wrong, however, is cheating the game to bypass the grind- not because I don’t think players shouldn’t resort to underhanded means to game an underhanded system, but because this is a multiplayer game. Since it is multiplayer, cheating is unfair to other players who do play honestly- if this were single player only, like Shadow of War, I would have been all for this. It’s not, though.

So, there are Star Wars Battlefront 2 players who are resorting to multiple cheats with rubber bands and the like, that I won’t describe here (you can check them out on Reddit if you want- I would still heavily encourage you against cheating in game), to automate the grind and in the process also bypass the ‘AFK’ detection system that boots players from games for inactivity. But don’t do it- be fair to the other players also playing the game. Please.

EA and DICE- I hope you are seeing this. You have managed to ruin what might otherwise have been a thriving player community and economy, and you did this by flying too close to the sun with your monetization policies. I hope this gives you pause as you inevitably work to prepare the next Battlefield and Battlefront games.
