Star Wars Battlefront 2 Will Not Have Conquest Mode, It Seems Like

Long time fans of DICE are probably well acquainted with the Conquest mode from the Battlefield series. These same fans have also been asking for Conquest in DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront games- and while it is too late to hope for the mode to show up in last year’s Battlefront game, there is at least every possibility that DICE manage to work it into next year’s sequel, right?

No, as it turns out. Speaking in response to a fan on Twitter, DICE’s Dennis Brännvall shot down all hopes of something like that ever happening, saying “I don’t think we’ll go that far into our other franchise but there’s certainly things to learn from both.” Which… sounds like a pretty conclusive ‘no’ to me, but who knows? DICE may change their mind in the year that separates now from Battlefront 2‘s eventual release.

Star Wars Battlefront is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Presumably, Battlefront 2 will launch on those same systems, though of course, a final announcement has not yet been made.
