DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront will be receiving its first major update in the form of Battle of Jakku and along with new maps inspired by Episode VII – The Force Awakens, there will be a brand new multiplayer mode to experience.

Turning Point will feature 40 players as the Rebels take on Imperials to secure three control points. As the Rebels capture these points, there will be more points opening up further into the Empire’s territory. Time is limited but with each point captured, more time is added but capturing other points becomes tougher as you go along before culminating in one final push against the Imperials. Meanwhile, the Imperials will be defending the control points, making use of different fortifications in the process.

So this is essentially Battlefield’s Rush mode for Star Wars Battlefront. You can look forward to gameplay from the new mode on November 30th. Consumers who pre-ordered Battlefront will receive the Battle of Jakku DLC on December 1st while general consumers can play it on December 8th.
