Star Wars Battlefront: DICE Won’t Do “Excessive Destruction Just Because We Can”

"Star Wars as an IP is shaping what we're doing."

Star Wars Battlefront

Among the Battlefield comparisons that DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront has been facing since its reveal, many are left wondering as to how extensive the destruction in the latter will be.

DICE GM Patrick Bach spoke to Engadget about the same and stated that putting Battlefield’s destruction into Battlefront wouldn’t make sense.

“Star Wars, as an [intellectual property], is shaping what we’re doing. So we won’t do excessive destruction just because we can. It’s more about ‘what do you need and what you want’ in a Battlefield game versus a Battlefront game.”

That being said, our analysis of the trailer showed a more localized form of destruction (as seen in the AT-AT Walker’s demise) compared to the massive scale of Battlefield 4 or Hardline. What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know in the comments.

Star Wars: Battlefront is out on November 17th for PS4, Xbox One and PC so stay tuned for more details.
