Star Wars: Battlefront is an already gorgeous game, and one that very authentically and accurately recreates the look and feel of the Star Wars movies. But you know what was missing, to make it feel even more authentic? A film grain filter. You know what I’m talking about- the Star Wars films all have a film grain effect to simulate the look of a classic 1950s pulp science fiction TV drama, and that was surely missing in Battlefront, which looks extremely… shiny. You know, too new to be part of the ‘user universe’ of Star Wars.
Well, now it’s missing no more! A new patch for Battlefront adds a film grain filter to the game, as well as a new map and mission. The film grain effect definitely makes a difference to how the game looks. Meanwhile, the new map, Twilight on Hoth, is available across all the major modes.
