DICE hasn’t even fully revealed its upcoming shooter Star Wars: Battlefront – with the first gameplay trailer out on April 17th – but it will apparently be available to play first on the Xbox One.
Xbox marketing lead Aaron Greenberg has indicated on Twitter that Xbox One users will be able to “play it first”. If you observe the tweet in question, you’ll see that Greenberg has tagged “EA Access”, the publisher’s Xbox One-exclusive digital service.
EA has had several deals with Microsoft in the past, leading to games like Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare staying timed exclusive on the Xbox One/Xbox 360 and arriving for other platforms later. However, in this case, it’s likely that Star Wars: Battlefront is available as an early access title through EA Access, allowing subscribers to experience the game’s first few hours on Xbox One like Battlefield: Hardline and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Regardless, Star Wars: Battlefront is still listed as arriving on the PS4 and PC as well so stay tuned for more information.
