We’ve long heard rumblings of a brand new Star Wars action game from Respawn, but EA themselves have never officially commented on it much. In their new financial briefing, however, EA confirmed that the game is in development, and that it will be launching before the end of FY 2020- in normal parlance, that means that the game will launch before March 31, 2020.
That’s actually a fairly long wait, if you think about it, and fans are likely to be a bit disappointed- especially given the obvious talent that Respawn has thus far managed to exhibit in both Titanfall games. Presumably, Respawn’s Star Wars game will release in the back half of 2019, alongside the release of tar Wars Episode IX. That would also give DICE’s Battlefront a much needed break.
We don’t know much else about this game, nor what to expect from it- we can only hope it meets a better fate than other EA helmed Star Wars games have so far.
