Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is Finally Adding Human Dismemberment

Recently revealed combat gameplay footage seems to suggest that human enemies on the game will run the risk of losing their limbs to Cal's lightsabers.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a great game, but some aspects of the action-adventure title failed to live up to the Jedi fantasy it otherwise successfully fulfilled. For instance, while lightsaber combat is obviously one of the game’s biggest strength, there were some who were at least a little disappointed that human enemies in the game couldn’t be dismembered as Cal’s saber cut through their limbs.

It seems that’s being remedied in its upcoming sequel. IGN recently uploaded a video showing off and detailing all five combat stances that will be available to players in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which also showcased plenty of new combat footage. One brief section of that video (which you can check out in the timestamped embed below) shows Cal slicing through a Stormtrooper with his lightsaber, only for the foe’s leg to be chopped off.

Considering the fact that Jedi: Survivor is making improvements over its predecessor in a number of areas – from greater enemy variety and new optional content to larger and more details maps – it makes sense that developer Respawn Entertainment has paid attention to more granular aspects of gameplay while looking to make improvements as well.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is due out on April 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
