DotA 2 is slowly transitioning into launch mode sometime before August 7th. As the game gets closer to release, Valve has added Twitch linking to Steam.

Twitch users can now link their accounts to Steam and DotA 2 is the first game that will take advantage of this feature due to its competitive nature. In DotA 2 players will now be able to watch tournaments and still receive tournament item drops while watching the game, which previously wasn’t allowed.

This is a fantastic feature for those who love watching the competition via Twitch.  Once you link your Twitch account with DotA 2 you will now be able to benefit from watching tournaments and still receive in-game goodies.

Valve has said that more features to Twitch + Steam will be added, including more games that will take advantage of it.

Let us know if you enjoy watching DotA 2 tournaments, in the comments section below.
