Steam Greenlight: $100 fee introduced to ward off trolls

Let's see if this works.

Valve has introduced a $100 fee for anyone who wishes to submit stuff on Steam Greenlight — a community driven system where Steam users select the games they want, and Valve does the rest.

Recently the project was plagued with troll submissions and things with pornographic images. This is expected to happen considering there is no barrier to entry and Valve has now rectified that. $100 fee will no doubt restrict many such submissions.

“There is unfortunately a significant amount of noise and clutter being submitted, either as a joke or by fans not fully understanding the purpose of Greenlight. We have no interest in making money from this, but we do need to cut down the noise in the system,” Valve’s Alden Kroll wrote in a Steam post.

Valve announced Steam Greenlight few days and since then there have been plenty of projects that have been submitted.
