Still Wakes the Deep - Siren's Rest_02

The Chinese Room’s Still Wakes the Deep is getting some new story DLC on June 18th in Siren’s Rest. Retailing for $12.99, it takes place almost ten years after the disaster that wrecked the Beira D. As Mhairi, you’ll dive into the rig’s remains to find out what happened to the crew.

How will it play out in comparison to the base game? Some extensive new gameplay is available featuring new protagonist Mhairi as she swims through the wreckage. You’ll pop open drawers, recover photographs and even take pictures of corpses. There’s trepidation about disrespecting the dead, though her colleague Rob assures her that it’s the opposite.

A set of flares is available on the ocean floor to help guide the player as Mhairi picks up a cutting arc to slice through a rusted door. It doesn’t provide a “deeper look” into the terrors lying below the surface, but there is a palpable tension throughout.

Still Wakes the Deep: Siren’s Rest will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. For more details on the base game, check out our review.
