Street Fighter 5

The latest entry in the legendary fighting series, Street Fighter 5, released to some mixed reactions back in 2016. While on a technical level the game was about as good as the series has ever gotten, the incredibly barebones feature set of the original release left a lot of sour tastes in a lot of mouths. Depending on who you ask, that stuff is still not totally up to snuff- but next month you’ll get to find out yourself as part of a limited time event.

As announced via the game’s official Twitter, between August 1 to August 11 you will be able to have free access to the game’s base roster, which includes 16 characters that are a mixture of classics and newcomers, as well as the four characters that were added in Season 3: Sakura, Sagat, Cody, and newcomer G. This free event will not include the characters from the first two seasons.

Street Fighter 5 is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC. The timed event will run for both platforms up until August 11.
