Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5 is set to launch on February 16, and it represents a new dawn for the storied franchise. The series that is the singular custodian of the entire fighting game genre will go into its fifth generation with a shifted focus, emphasizing a clarity of mechanics, and a toning down of the massive character rosters that previous games in the franchise had come to be known for.

Indeed, cutting down on the character bloat is one of the most immediately apparent changes that Street Fighter 5 has made- the game launches with only 16 playable characters, a far cry from the nearly 50 characters that Street Fighter 4 had by the end of its run. Capcom promises more will be made available as DLC, for free- but for now, these 16 characters is all we have.

And ahead of the game’s launch, Capcom will share some new trailers that introduce us to each of these 16 characters. First up is Nash, who got his own introductory video today. You can check it out below.

Street Fighter 5 launches on the PlayStation 4 and PC on February 16.
