Street Fighter 5 Sales Nearing 2.5 Million Units Worldwide

Capcom has managed to turn things around.

Street Fighter 5 had a tepid launch, mired with all manner of issues- but to Capcom’s credit, they have managed to turn it around greatly since, thanks to persistent post launch support, and by targeting all the problems that fans had with the game.

Thanks to that, the game’s sales have managed to pick up, too. It was, for a very long time, stuck at a sub-2 million units sold figure- but apparently, now, on the eve of the release of the Arcade Edition, it seems like the sales for the game are nearing 2.5 million units worldwide- which actually makes this one of the most successful fighting games of this generation, at least of the ones not named Smash Bros., anyway.

Street Fighter 5 is available right now on PS4 and PC; the game is currently the most popular competitive fighting game in the world. You truly have to give Capcom credit for how admirably they have managed to turn it around from how bad the initial launch was.
