Street Fighter 6 Will Use RE Engine – Rumour

In the wake of Capcom's official announcement of Street Fighter 6, an insider claims that the game is going to run on RE Engine.

Street Fighter 6

Capcom debuted the RE Engine with Resident Evil 7 in 2017, and since then, it’s become the company’s engine of choice for most of its releases. All subsequent Resident Evil games, Devil May Cry 5Monster Hunter Rise, and even Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrections and Capcom Arcade Stadium have run on the internal engine, as will the upcoming Pragmata.

Unsurprisingly, then, it seems like another major upcoming Capcom release will do so as well. Street Fighter 6 has now been officially announced, and while details on the game are, for the most part, non-existent right now, according to known insider AestheticGamer (or Dusk Golem), the game will run on RE Engine. There’s no official confirmation on this, of course, but given how widely the engine has been adopted by Capcom for more or less all of its productions, it doesn’t seem off the mark.

Of course, Capcom has said it’s going to have more to say about Street Fighter 6 in the summer, which is when we’ll probably see gameplay and learn about when the game will launch, and what platforms it will launch for. It’s likely that we’ll learn about what engine it runs on then as well.

Interestingly, AestheticGamer has also previously claimed that the long-rumoured Dragon’s Dogma 2, which hasn’t yet been officially announced, is also going to use RE Engine. Read more on that through here.
