Yoshinori Ono, the producer behind Capcom’s excellent but nevertheless milked fighting game series Street Fighter, has resigned from Capcom Vancouver, he revealed on his own Twitter.

“I resigned from the director position about Capcom Vancouver,” said Ono. “Thanks good staff of Capcom Vancouver, and Dead Rising staff!”

He continued that he needed some time to think things over very carefully, presumably referring to the direction that his own career will take now.

Of course, Ono probably still works within Capcom proper in other capacities- he is a rather high ranking official in Capcom, and it is unlikely he has left the company entirely, although we are currently awaiting a confirmation (or denial) of that either way. If he has left Capcom, then that will represent the departure of last of the old guard, the talented brigade that made Capcom the mega publisher that it is today.

We’ll keep you updated on whatever it is in any case.
