DotEmu have made a reputation for themselves as developers and publishers of long-awaited revivals of beloved franchises, having worked on the likes of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap and the recently released Streets of Rage 4 in the last few years, with Windjammers 2 also in the works. And it’s quite possible that they’re working on more similar revivals of classic franchises.

Streets of Rage 4’s co-developers DotEmu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games recently held an AMA on Reddit. When asked if they might considering working on a fifth Streets of Rage title if the recently released brawler should prove to be successful, DotEmu CEO Cyrille Imbert said that for now, that’s not something they have discussed, and would like to continue adding content to Streets of Rage 4 for the time being. Interestingly enough, however, Imbert also said that DotEmu are currently also working on three “similar” unannounced games.

“We haven’t discussed it yet but we’d like to first focus on SoR4 and continue to add content,” Imbert wrote. “But at DotEmu we are currently working on three unannounced similar projects, so stay tuned.”

DotEmu’s track record with revivals of classic franchises have been excellent so far, so whatever these three new games are that they’re working on are probably going to be worth keeping an eye on- if they are indeed revivals of a similar nature, of course. Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll keep you updated should we come across any new details.
