Well of course Gears of War 4 is pretty. As a mainstream showcase of Epic’s Unreal 4 engine, it kind of has to be pretty. Otherwise Epic wouldn’t get all those sweet engine licensing deals.
So, Gears of War twitter handle, just outed a couple of high quality character renders for several characters. While we highly doubt that this is the in-game render target (or even a render target for in-engine cutscenes), it does showcase what the Unreal 4 engine is capable of.
If Unreal 4 titles proliferate like Unreal 3 did over the seventh-gen, then we might just see in-game Gears of War visuals that are this ridiculously good once the Xbox Scorpio hits the market next year. Gears of War 4 is set to drop in October, and because of Microsoft’s cross-plaform policy, it’s making its way over to PC. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments section below.
