After its end-game showcase showing how Incursion Missions work in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady finally explained the story behind them in Insider episode 3. It also confirmed that Season 1 would launch in March and include the Joker as a new playable character.

As a new Elseworlds version of the character, he served in the Suicide Squad from his world. While more cooperative, he’s also unhinged and less experienced than the legendary supervillain. The Joker has extensive mobility, using a rocket-powered umbrella to propel upwards, then gliding or sliding along the ground to knock back enemies.

Elseworlds are alternate universes created by Brainiac in his drive to recreate Colu, his homeworld. Said universes include locations like Arkham Asylum and Gotham City (based on Ace Chemicals and the GCPD appearing). Seasons will each have two episodes of permanent content, so players can revisit it anytime, with battle passes only containing cosmetics.

Additional characters are in the works with new environments, challenges, gear, missions, etc. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2nd for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Head here for more details.
