Super Mario Run Downloads Exceed 40 Million In Four Days

Looks like there is no stopping this game.

Investors can be panicked all they want, but there is little denying that Nintendo’s first mobile game ever (Miitomo hardly qualifies as a game, and Nintendo didn’t actually have much to do with Pokemon GO) is a bonafide success. In a recent press release by the company, Nintendo revealed that downloads for Super Mario Run had surpassed 40 million in four days.

This, Nintendo notes with some pride, makes the game the fastest in the iOS App Store’s history to hit this milestone; Nintendo also noted that this performance is reflected on the App Store charts, too. Super Mario Run is the top ranked free app in 140 countries, and the highest grossing app in ten- which seems to imply that a whole lot of people who are downloading the free version of the game are finding it good enough to upgrade to the full version.

Super Mario Run is available exclusively on iOS devices for now. It should be hitting Android some time early in 2017.
