Super Smash Bros Ultimate_Joker

We already know that the first DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is supposed to be Joker from Persona 5. We have also been told that Joker reveals the direction Nintendo is taking with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC, which implies that the DLC characters will be third party.

This new leak, courtesy of a datamine for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, definitely seems to line up with that. According to this leak, data mining reveals files for three new characters—Plant, Jack, and Brave. All three appear to be codenames, with Plant referencing Piranha Plant, Jack referencing Joker, and Brave apparently being the Japanese name for the Hero’s class in Dragon Quest, and referencing Erdrick from Dragon Quest 3, still held to be the greatest game in the storied series by long time fans. As you might remember, the next Smash Ultimate DLC character being Dragon Quest-focused is something that has previously been rumoured as well.

This leak is from jam1gamer, who’s pretty well known for his data mining, and only leaks the labels for the three characters—the rest is speculation— but regardless, it is predicated on unconfirmed information, and some assumptions and speculation, so for now, let’s file it away as rumor. Still, I really hope it’s true.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now, only on Nintendo Switch.
