Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Switch Bundle With Special Edition Console Revealed

Launches on November 2 (November 11 in Europe).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is primed to be one of the biggest releases of the year, not just for Nintendo, but across the entire industry, period. So of course, befitting of such a major new launch, Nintendo is going to be launching a new bundle for the game (as was previously announced). The bundle will come with special edition Joycons (which are really regular Joycons with two lines drawn on them), a digital copy of the game, and a special edition Nintendo Switch console.

The dock will be emblazoned with new art of the original eight Smash Bros. characters-Link, Pikachu, Mario, Kirby, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Seamus, and Fox. This is actually the bundle that was previously leaked- now, it has been officially confirmed. The really interesting thing about this bundle is that it launches a month early- it will be available on November 2 in North America and November 11 in Europe, which is well ahead of the December 7 launch date for the game itself.

Nintendo has confirmed, however, that you won’t be able to actually play the game until it launches, even though it’s included in the bundle. So I guess this is just a gambit from them to start getting some of those Smash Bros. infused Switch sales a bit early.
