More details for Super Smash Bros. on the Wii U and 3DS are beginning to arrive, and according to director Masahiro Sakurai, players will no longer be able to edge-camp.

In previous games, edge-camping allowed players to latch on to the edge of the stage and hang off of it in order to avoid the main battle. Of course, the first one to get to the edge couldn’t be knocked off, but in the new Super Smash Bros., they’ll no longer be safe.

Posting on MiiVerse, Sakurai shared the above picture and spoke about two other changes to be included, such as, “Air time and accumulated damage will determine your period of invincibility while hanging on an edge” and “Grab controls will no longer be affected by whether you have above or below 100% damage.”

We welcome these changes but what are your thoughts on the above as well as on the death of edge-camping? Let us know in the comments below.
