Switch Price Cut Won’t Come Anytime Soon, Says Nintendo

Don't expect to get a Switch on the cheap anytime soon.

Nintendo has gotten a strong shot in the arm with their current consoles, the Switch. The hybrid system just keeps selling, and with a new, fresh revision on the market, it’s probably not going to stop anytime soon. And unfortunately for all of us waiting to get the system a tad cheaper, Nintendo is keeping the price as high as it can for as long as it can.

In their six-month financial results briefing, President Shuntaro Furukawa said the company plans to continue selling their products, specifically the Switch hardware and software, for full price for as long as possible. Considering how this statement comes right before the holiday season, it’s probably best not to expect any steep price cuts for the likes of Black Friday or Christmas, or an official price cut until at least next year.

It’s not exactly a new thing, however, since Nintendo products generally have kept their market value incredibly well even as other major companies have many aggressive sales at a quick pace normally nowadays. But if you want a Switch, then you’re going to have to pay the full toll for the foreseeable future.
