Switch Will Get a New “Action Game Epic” This Year That Will Push It “To Its Very Limit”

Apparently it has something in common with both Splatoon and Fortnite.

It looks like the Switch is going to get an interesting action title some time this year. The latest issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro (via Ryokutya) mentions that “a new action game epic” will be coming to Nintendo’s hybrid system this year. There’s very little info in the ad to give us any clues of what it could be, but it does include some interesting snippets.

For instance, the ad mentions that the game will “follow Splatoon and Fortnite,” which means we can probably expect it to be a multiplayer-focused shooter. Meanwhile, there’s also a key visual accompanying the tease, which shows a boy and a strange monster standing in a city full of skyscrapers, reminiscent of New York. The ad also claims that the game will focus on fights breaking out “between skyscrapers in the middle of a peaceful city.”

There’s no info on who the developer and publisher for this game are going to be, nor do we know when it’ll be announced (perhaps at that rumoured Nintendo Direct later this month?). The ad does say that the game will push “the Switch’s performance to its very limit,” so there’s that. Either way, we’ll keep you updated as and when we hear more about this, so stay tuned.
