The development team on Project Polaris has "made substantial progress" and is ready to wrap up pre-production soon, as per CFO Piotr Nielubowicz.
"What we know is that Geralt will be part of the game, we just don't know how much, and the game won't focus on Geralt," says actor Doug Cockle, the voice of Geralt.
Project Orion associate game director Paweł Sasko reiterates the next mainline Witcher title will begin production this year.
There are no longer any developers at CD Projekt RED who are working on Cyberpunk 2077, the company has revealed.
"We will be adding new gameplay elements and new mechanics that you have not seen in our previous games," says co-CEO Michał Nowakowski.
Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2 and Fool's Theory remake of the first Witcher are both in the concept stage of production.
The first instalment in the fantasy series' next trilogy will have around 400 people working on it by the middle of this year.

"I believe I can say it'll be an excellent entry point for many players, without forgetting the long-time fans who still wish to follow Geralt's adventures," says CDPR's Sebastian Kalemba.
Some developers will support Phantom Liberty after it launches in September. Others will shift to Project Orion and Project Hadar.
The developer says it is "overstaffed" and won't have "other opportunities" for surplus employees across its upcoming projects.
Project Polaris is second, with the number of developers ramping up, while Project Sirius is third despite recent layoffs for the team.
The developer says the engine was "one of the reasons behind saying we want to release three big Witcher games within six years."
Sebastian Kalemba has confirmed the same in a tweet. Previously, Jason Slama was announced as director of the next Witcher.
Over 150 developers are working on Polaris. After its launch, the next two titles in this new Witcher trilogy will launch within a six-year period.
