Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition

Bandai Namco shared a picture of the special edition for Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, the upcoming remaster of the beloved game, earlier today, but that news got rapidly overshadowed due to a small detail. Fans soon noticed that the Switch version’s box seemed to have a banner at the top indicating that even the physical version of the game will require a mandatory download- something that a lot of third party games do on Switch to save on cartridge costs.

Something like this could have been a dealbreaker for a lot of people, but Bandai Namco has cleared the air surrounding the matter pretty quickly. In a follow up tweet, the company has confirmed that the Switch version will ship on a 16GB cart, and no additional download will be required on the user’s part. So that’s good, you can get the physical version without having to worry about additional storage management on your console.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition launches on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC on January 11, 2019.
