Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition

Though it initially hyped a 2018 release, Bandai Namco has announced that Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will now be releasing on January 11th, 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Over on Twitter, the developer also teased a “very special edition” that players would be able to obtain. More information on that will be coming soon.

As the name implies, this is a remastered version of the 2008 RPG, which received strong critical and commercial acclaim. The Definitive Edition not only includes upscaled graphics, but also includes content that was exclusive to the PS3 version in Japan. On top of this, players can choose from both English and Japanese voice tracks.

With how crowded this year’s Fall/Holiday season is, it makes sense to shift the release date forward a bit. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will be releasing right before Resident Evil 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3 though, so how much attention it ultimately receives remains to be seen.
