Kingdom Hearts 3 Releasing on January 29th 2019

Director Tetsuya Nomura apologizes for delay and promises more trailers at E3.

Kingdom Hearts 3

Ahead of Square-Enix’s E3 presentation, the company announced that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be releasing on January 29th 2019 for Xbox One and PS4. Of course, the most obvious question is why it’s releasing in 2019 after the stated release date has been 2018 still now.

Director Tetsuya Nomura apologized for the delay on Twitter, noting that the studio was “asking for a little more time than initially planned.” However, more information would be coming including some new trailers at E3 2018. Interestingly, some new information was revealed during the recent Kingdom Hearts 3 Orchestra World Tour.

Cynical on Twitter talked about a trailer that had Zexion hanging out with Lea (Axel’s original personality) and Xigbar. Hayner, Pence and Olette were also showcased fleeing from Heartless in Twilight Town. Another scene saw Kairi and Aqua sitting together. Finally, if that wasn’t enough, Sora was busy cooking with Remy from Disney movie Ratatouille.

Some off-screen images of the trailer (which will likely be released later) can be seen on Reddit. What are your thoughts on the release date? Let us know in the comments.
