Tales of Xillia English Footage Provides First Look at Western Release

And English voice actors! Er, yay?

Thanks to the success the game saw in Japan – along with the demand of a new Tales game in North America and Europe – Namco Bandai decided to bring Tales of Xillia to Western audiences almost two years after its release in Japan.

Some new footage has been released showcasing how the English translation and dubbing as been going. For the most part, it sounds fairly typical and quite solid. Hey, you can’t get all the Japanese inflections right because…well, they’re Japanese. But for what it’s worth, the game still looks reasonably good as well.

Tales of Xillia will be releasing on June 6th 2013 for North America and later this year in Europe, exclusively for PlayStation 3. It will feature the classic battle system we’ve seen in Tales games, with its beat ’em up centric controls and team-up attacks. The combat system also sees the return of Overlimit, last seen in titles like Tales of Versperia and Tales of the Abyss which allows for Mystic Arts.
