Now that would be something.

Tekken 7

Now that cross platform play between all major online networks is finally a thing, the door is opened to multiplatform games allowing people to play with each other, regardless of the console that they own. And it appears that Bandai Namco may be planning something like that for the upcoming Tekken 7.

In a new interview, Tekken 7 director and series creator Katsuhiro Harada spoke about the possibility of there being cross platform play between the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the game. He mentions that the team is looking into it, and they have an idea of how to proceed- he also mentions that it’s not too difficult to accomplish (which is something we have heard from other developers, too).

As of right now, the only outstanding issues are considerations of a larger, unified player base versus platform specific issues, such as differing network functionalities, or rampant cheating in the PC version of the game. Tekken 7 will be releasing in early 2017 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
