While extensive trailers and character showcases for Tekken 8 have been revealed, Bandai Namco still has a live-action trailer. It sees two professional fighters squaring up before the surrounding crowd – and the rest of the world – decides to join in the huddle. There are even cameos by pro players Arslan Ash and King Jae, along with Hafþór Björnsson (who played The Mountain on Game of Thrones).
Tekken 8 is the latest mainline title in the series, launching almost nine years after Tekken 7. It continues the long-running storylline, with Kazuya Mishima embarking on a tyrannical campaign and Jin Kazama fighting to stop him. There’s also the new Arcade Quest, a separate campaign where players create avatars and travel across arcades in Japan to challenge others.
Online play has been revamped with the addition of Battle Lounge, while rollback netcode and cross-play are included at launch. Tekken 8 is out on January 26th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Check out 15 differences between it and Tekken 7 here.
