Shortly after the demo for Tekken 8 went live on PS5, Bandai Namco released a new story trailer for the fighter. If you want to go in blind, then beware of spoilers, but for everyone else wondering where the long-running saga goes this time, check it out below.
The Story Mode is titled The Dark Awakens and sees Jin Kazama opposing Kazuya Mishima, his father. The latter is on a rampage, using his powers to fight the world and wreak destruction for the sake of his vision. By working with different characters like Lars Alexandersson, Alisa and more, players form the resistance to fight back against Kazuya.
Of course, other characters, like Azucena, support G Corporation because they offer “better optics” for her coffee. If you’re jumping into the sequel without playing the previous games, it includes story digests to catch you up.
Tekken 8 is out on January 26th, 2024, for Xbox Series X/S, PC and PS5. Along with The Dark Awakens, it also features a new Arcade Quest mode, where players travel across the country and battle other players in the arcades.
