Bastion (Xbox Live)

Read Our Review

One look at our Bastion review will show you how much we loved that game- 9.5 is a great score, after all. And the game completely deserved the score. It was such a varied, deep and addictive game, anyone who played it found it impossibly hard to turn it off. The graphics were beautiful, the levels very well designed, the gameplay mechanics deep and enjoyable, and each level a short burst of adrenaline pumping fun. Again, like many other games on this list, Bastion has garnered impressive sales and reviews, and with such success, I find it hard to believe there won’t be a sequel.

Shadow Complex (Xbox Live)

Read Our Review

Shadow Complex has to be the best Xbox Live game I, personally, have ever played. While some of you might call it one of the best XBL games, and some of you may not like it at all, there are several full blown retain games that do not stand up to Shadow Complex in my eyes. Epic built an absolute stunner with Shadow Complex- the action was brilliant, the boss fights were great, the graphics were awesome and the cutscenes were really good. And while there have been rumours about a Shadow Complex 2 these days, we haven’t seen anything concrete. So here’s hoping Epic will announce Shadow Complex 2 soon enough.

Braid (Xbox Live, PSN)

Braid was an absolutely beautiful game, both, in terms of gameplay and visuals. The visuals, because, well, it was beautiful. The graphics, while not good looking the conventional “HD” sense, were very pleasing to the eye, and the visual style was simply spectacular. And the gameplay,  because the game was simply a ton of fun. Braid was one of the first genuinely good downloadable titles of this generation, a game that created its own legacy and inspired many similar games. We’d love to see Braid 2, so let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope Number None announce something soon.

Limbo (Xbox Live, PSN)

Read Our Review

Limbo was black and white, and it was 2D, and that is why it was so beautiful. The game was just so creepy, and atmospheric, and it sucks us right is. The platforming was great, the puzzle solving was a lot of fun- everything about the game was fun. Even the innumerable deaths. The one thing I didn’t like in Limbo was that Playdead ended it too soon- let’s hope it was just a test run in anticipation of a full blown, even better Limbo. Again, fingers crossed!
