9. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Hideo Kojima is only human after all it seems, as he struggled to make a sequel that could match up to the sheer greatness of the original Metal Gear Solid. Even ignoring the bait and switch attitude to the game's protagonist, the story got pretty ridiculous at points, especially near the end. The final boss fight and epilogue really started taking the piss as far as a sensible plot was concerned.
