In between all the E3 hubbub, inXile Entertainment revealed that its next big crowd-funded RPG The Bard’s Tale IV has surpassed its original funding goal. Thus far, 28,305 backers have pledged $1,255,148 of the initial $1.25 million goal which means there’s still plenty of time for inXile to rack up more support.
inXile’s head honco Brian Fargo updated the Kickstarter post to thank backers, stating that, “Nearly 30,000 of you have put your belief in us once more, and we are forever grateful. You’ve heard me wax poetic on the subject of crowdfunding enough, but truly we would not be able to make these games without your support every step of the way.
“Your social media love you have given over the course of the campaign has been invaluable, and your continued support will let us make The Bard’s Tale IV bigger and better than ever. But for now let’s just enjoy the moment of reaching our goal! The Bard is back!”
The Bard’s Tale IV isn’t inXile’s only project – it’s also working to update Wasteland 2 to Unity 5 and release it for Xbox One and PS4.
