The Callisto Protocol

Established by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield, Striking Distance Studios finally revealed its first game at The Game Awards. Surprise, surprise – it’s a sci-fi horror title called The Callisto Protocol. Check out the announcement trailer below and don’t worry if it feels reminiscent of a bygone horror classic.

The gameplay isn’t set on a derelict spaceship but instead on Callisto, Jupiter’s moon, in 2030. Strange things are afoot in Black Iron Prison, namely in the form of mutated alien-like creatures massacring the prisoners. Players must essentially escape while also uncovering the truth of what’s going on.

Slated to release in 2022, The Callisto Protocol will be coming to consoles and PC. While exact details on the gameplay are still unknown, Schofield and his team are looking to create one of “the most terrifying games of all time.” More details will be coming next year so stay tuned. In the meantime, there are more announcements and reveals coming at The Game Awards 2020 so stay tuned.
