The Crew Announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One: Highway Robbery via Transforming Cars

For the second time today, what?

The Crew
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot took the stage at the company’s E3 press conference to announced The Crew by Ivory Tower and Reflections, which is a persistent online world that mixes single-player, co-op and competitive modes. And somehow features transforming cars that go around escaping from cop cars and wrecking armoured trucks.

The trailer starts with one of the cars just assembling spontaneously in a garage before starting its journey on the highway to Hell. One of the cars is identited as a Ford Raptor F-150, and really, aside from the fact that the cars transformed, there’s not much to say about. It also showcases several players cooperating to carry out various missions of crime together and hit up rival crews in the meantime.

Creative director Julian Gerighty talks about using the next generation of consoles to effectively “change the status quo of racing games”. The Crew, meanwhile, is slated to arrive in early 2014 for PC, Xbox One and PS4. Plenty of time to figure out what the hell’s going on, hopefully. Stay tuned for more.
