A new website called Route 909 has been set up by Ubisoft to promote the open world racer The Crew for an upcoming hands-on tour. The site reveals some rather interesting new details including the fact that the game has been in development for 6 years.

The site also states that, “Starting May 16th, a Work in Progress version of the game will be available at 8 selected gaming centers around the world.” This includes the UK, where you’ll be able to play the game in London at the Meltdown Bar.

The Crew is also described as “a never seen before mix of a passionate car game and a full-fledged MMORPG”. The site also states that you won’t really begin to figure it out until you play it for a few hours and even after that, you’ll be amazed at how it delivers on its premise.

In development for PS4, Xbox One and PC, The Crew is expected to release in Q3 2014.
