The saga surrounding The Day Before has been a curious one to follow, with developer Fntastic having turned a lot of people into skeptics with numerous delays and underwhelming and sparse showings of the post-apocalyptic open world survival MMO. Earlier this year, the game was delayed into November due to a trademark dispute, shortly after which Fntastic showcased a new chunk of gameplay footage.
For players who’re looking to get a meatier taste of the game before deciding whether or not to take the full plunge, it seems a beta will also be available at some point. As reported by PCGamesN, an administrator on the official The Day Before Discord recently stated that Fntastic will release a beta of the game prior to its full launch.
“As we get closer to the release date, we will be conducting a beta test for the game. This will give players the opportunity to try out the game before it is released and provide valuable feedback that we can use to improve the final product.”
There are, of course, still plenty of questions worth asking, like how long before launch the beta will happen, or how much of the game it will allow players to experience, but presumably, the developer will be revealing those details in the coming months ahead of the beta’s launch.
The Day Before is currently slated for release on November 10 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
