'The Division is about exploring.'

Tom Clancy's The Division

Ubisoft’s The Division is slated for a release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC next year. The game so far looks pretty damn good, and some of the newest stuff that the game’s producer, Fredrik Rundqvist, said to The Examiner recently, will probably get you even more pumped and hyped.

“We wanted to have the full map be open from the start and you can go anywhere you like. [The Division] about exploring, it’s about investigation; it’s about playing the game the way you want.

“Rooftop gameplay will be mixed with everything else and what we wanted to do with the game is not have a linear progression where you [do things in order]. So if you want to climb up to a rooftop, we won’t stop you from going up there,” Rundqvist said.

He went a little more in depth:

“As you’ve seen in both demos, the map is one of the most essential tool sets you have in the game. Nowadays, it’s hard to get around without your smartphone, and I think in the game it will be even tougher to be there without the map. You can check out all of the points of interest, you can set waypoints for yourself or for other people. It’s a great tool to see what’s out there to do,” Rundqvist said.

The game will have a new trailer and demo at Gamescom, so stay tuned to GamingBolt for more.
