The Division Servers Are Back Up Again On Xbox One

Blame microtransactions for them going down at all.

Servers for Ubisoft Massive’s shared world open world shooter The Division went down briefly on Xbox One earlier today. Ubisoft Massive has brought the servers online again, explaining in a post on the Ubisoft forums that Premium Currency, which is the new currency for microtransactions in the game, were the cause behind the server outage.

So not only are microtransactions ruining our games, they’re also making it unable for us to play them at all! Jokes aside, however, the team said that it has made progress in solving the issue, and that for now, Premium Currency is disabled to allow the game to come back online again. While you can still buy currency from the Xbox Store, you can’t quite redeem it in game yet. Ubisoft Massive said they will provide an update on when the Premium Currency will be available for Xbox One when they can.

The Division is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
