FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods, previously slated for launch this year on Nintendo Switch 2, has been delayed to 2027. The official Twitter account says the PvEvP title is in “the final adjustment stage” of development, hence its decision to push back the launch.
If that sounds a little vague, it’s because the team is implementing feedback from its August closed beta test. The “final adjustment stage” is meant for “game rules and balance,” according to FromSoftware’s Twitter account (via machine translation).
This is to “realize the concept of this title – enjoyable not only through direct combat but also through various maneuvers and diverse strategies- at an even higher level, based on the evaluations received from all users during the network test held in August, and to deliver an even better gaming experience.” One has to wonder if said adjustments include making the game more appealing to players who aren’t great at PvP.
While the overall response to the closed beta seemed positive enough, the first day was littered with server errors, leading the developer to cancel that day’s tests. It was later revealed that the total number of applicants surpassed that of Elden Ring Nightreign, whose closed beta was available on two consoles.
Time will tell what changes emerge, but this may open up the title to further testing. Perhaps an open beta for Nintendo Switch 2 players to really stress the servers?
