Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks have their work cut out for them with The Evil Within, especially when it comes to delivering a compelling psychological horror experience. A new trailer for the game shows us how they’re going to try and keep us terrified through the night. It is, for lack of a better word, effective. Check it out above.

Bethesda Softworks also revealed that The Evil Within will be releasing in North America on October 21st and in Europe on October 24th with the additional time being used to further polish and refine the experience. Pre-order incentives for the game have also been announced to help provide greater amounts of items to fight with.

The Fighting Chance Pack will include a Medical Kit for enhancing health; Green Gel for upgrading stats; a Double Barrel Shotgun with three shells which packs a bigger punch than a normal shotgun; an Incendiary Agony Bolt for damaging enemies with fire sparks; and the Poison Agony Bolt to both distract and poison enemies while you make your escape.
