Originally announced as Project Magnum over a year ago, Nexon formally unveiled its free-to-play co-op looter shooter The First Descendant earlier this year, and it has attracted plenty of attention since then. Of course, there’s no shortage of games in this genre, but among other things, The First Descendant’s rich setting and focus on narrative have got plenty of attention.

Nexon has now released a new trailer for the game that focuses on those aspects. The new cinematic trailer explains the central premise, which focuses on the threat of the extraterrestrial forces of the Vulgus and the Colossi, who nearly destroyed the world and wiped out humanity close to a century ago. Old powers have reawakened though, and the survivors have banded together to leverage these powers and fight back against their enemies and save humanity from the brink of darkness. Check out the trailer below.

The First Descendant is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, but it doesn’t yet have a release date. A PC-exclusive beta is scheduled for October 20-26. To learn more about the game, make sure to check out our recent interview with the developers through here.
