PS4

Never underestimate people’s love for video games. Video game fans might be fickle and whiny and entitled and all that other stuff that people like to tell you that they are, but what they are more than anything else is fiercely loyal. And maybe just a little crazy. Nothing else explains this.

So you probably already know about the 20th Anniversary Playstation themed PS4s that Sony made a while ago (and how botched their limited distribution was). Sony only made a very limited number of these (less than 15,000), and individually numbered every single console.

And now, the first ever 20th Anniversary PS4 has sold online for a staggering amount– ¥15.135 million, or about $129,000.

Just for context, you could send two kids to college and cover all those costs with that money. You could buy a house with no mortgage. You could buy a car. You could buy multiple cars. Or, if video games is really what you like, you could buy every single system from now on until the end of your life, along with possibly every single game on all of them that interests you, with that money.

Someone used it to buy one PS4, that was colored a little differently.

People have a lot of money, I guess. That, and/or screwed up priorities.
