E3 2003: Halo 2 debuts with “real-time” gameplay footage. Final version significantly different though

Everyone remembers the E3 2003 Halo 2 showcase which was quite impressive, except it would have been even more impressive if it was implemented in the actual game-play. What was shown in E3 and what was in the final game were two very different things; the actual campaign never reached the potential in the demo. Bungie later admitted that the E3 demo was a fanciful snapshot of a game that could never be recreated on Xbox hardware.
